Narrowband sorters: The best choice for streamlined and efficient logistics solutions

The Narrow Belt Sorter is a sorting device used in logistics and warehousing systems, especially for the rapid sorting and transfer of small, lightweight items or packages. It enables the sorting of parcels or items through a series of narrow belts (conveyor belts) and associated accessories. Narrowband sorters are mainly used in e-commerce warehouses, express sorting centers, postal logistics and other scenarios.

The working principle of narrow band sorter
The basic principle of narrowband sorters is to use multiple narrowband conveyor systems, combined with mechanical and sensor control, to divert packages or items from the main line to multiple output channels through high-speed automated sorting equipment.

1. Input of packages or items
Items or packages enter the sorter system via an input conveyor belt (main conveyor belt). This process can be either manually placing the package or an automated system delivering the package to the starting location of the sorter.
2. Scanning and identification
After the package or item enters the sorting system, it is identified by a scanner (such as barcode scanner, QR code scanner, RFID reader, etc.). The purpose of this step is to extract the destination information, size, weight and other data of the package to provide a basis for subsequent sorting operations.
3. Information transmission and decision-making
After the scanning system reads the package information, this information is transmitted to the central control system. Based on the destination information, the central control system decides which output channel the package should be allocated to based on the set rules (such as destination address, delivery area, etc.).
4. Narrow band sorting
In the working process of the sorter, the narrow belt conveyor plays a key role. The narrow strip generally consists of multiple parallel ribbon conveyor belts, each capable of moving over the package to push it in a different direction.
5. Parcel distribution
The action of the package through the narrow band conveying system is precisely guided to different output channels to achieve the purpose of sorting.
6. Transshipment and final handling
After sorting, the package is delivered to the appropriate area and may undergo subsequent packaging, loading, etc., before finally being shipped.

Key technology component
1. Narrow belt conveyor: The narrow belt sorter is composed of multiple narrow belt conveyor belts, each narrow belt conveyor belt width is narrow, so it is suitable for handling small packages. The movement and control of the narrow band can be very precise, suitable for small items requiring high frequency sorting.
2. Scanning and identification equipment: barcode scanners, two-dimensional code scanners, RFID readers and other devices are used to obtain package information, identify items, and sort according to preset targets.
3. Sorting control system: The control system controls the working state of each narrowband and push device according to the scanning information, so as to achieve accurate sorting action. Modern narrowband sorters usually use PLC (Programmable logic Controller) or DCS (distributed control system) to schedule the entire sorting process.
4. Diverting device: such as pneumatic push rod, flip plate, roller, etc., used to push the package to the correct output channel.
5. Sensors: used to monitor the position of the package in the system to ensure that the package does not get stuck or deviate from the intended route.
Advantages of narrowband sorters
1. Efficient handling of small items: Narrowband sorting machine is especially suitable for handling small size, light weight packages, such as small e-commerce goods, letters, packages, etc.
2. Fast sorting: Through high-speed narrowband conveying and precise control system, the narrowband sorting machine can complete the task of package classification very quickly.
3. Save space: Narrowband sorters usually take up less space, which is very suitable for use in warehouses with limited space.
4. Reduce labor costs: Due to the high degree of automation, narrowband sorters can effectively reduce manual intervention, thereby reducing labor costs and improving the accuracy and efficiency of sorting.
5. Strong flexibility: strong adaptability, can expand or adjust the system according to needs, support different package sizes, types of processing.
